Count D’Orsay - 2019

I decided to make a costume for a speculative film project about the life of Count Alfred D’Orsay. To do that I took inspiration from an existing 1833 ensemble from the MET Museum collection.

Technique sampling - Corded pintucks

Sample of machine and hand stitched corded pintucks. I decided to hand-stitch them.

Technique sampling - Pleat stitching

Various methods of stitching the waist pleats, mixing hand and machine stitches.I decided to understitch the pleats with a sewing machine.
